CoH

So far, I have very positive feelings about this one. City of heroes/villains, If very fun and a good distraction. If you like the idea of Online gaming but are not a fan of Fantasy like EQ or World of Warcraft. Then this is a good choice. Also any die hard comics fans should try it. You can emulate your favorite hero or go for a new and original Hero/villain.

Leveling so far is very steady not to fast but not a slow grind. there are a few H&*L lvls I have hit, but you grind some get past and smooth going again. I am only 37 now, but I am really enjoying this game.

So to all you Steadfast protectors of justice, or vile evil doers, I would give this game a try. My machine is an average gaming comp, good but not top of the line, and it runs CoH well on medium graphics settings with no lag.

Welcome join the insanity

I have been a MMORPGer since my first days of being confused in Ultima online, and the glory days of Everquest. I wanted to make a place where people could discuss the games they play. Talk about Pros and Cons, and give others an idea what games they might want to play or not play. Currently I play World of Warcraft the current “Big Daddy” of MMORPG and City of Heroes/villains. I can honestly say I love WoW, and with a new expansion on the way. I hope my love for it will be renewed.

World of Warcraft Pros

These are just my feelings and others can add and discuss for readers to think about.
1. Easy to learn and fairly straight forward interface.
2. Fun immersive world with rich lore and quest.
3. Smooth leveling that doesn’t feel like a second job.
4. A large player base with plenty of players of every kind, hardcore PvPers, Casual or raiders
5. Ability to play on a wide range of machines with tuning of graphics settings

World of warcraft Cons

1. Sometimes can feel a little repetitive, doing the same thing over and over
2. Sometimes quest rewards don’t seem to scale with time involved and effort
3. Crazy in game economy, inflation can be a harsh mistress, though this is more player based problem.

I know many others have different opinions, and I offer them a chance to come in and give their opinions so beginning or returning gamers can read and decide If world of warcraft is the game for them.

As for city of heroes, I have not played it long enough to really develop an opinion, but I will continue to Lvl my hero and get back to you.

Other games I have played include Everquest, which I loved but I felt that playing was becoming a second job and not something I did for fun. Vanguard Saga of heroes which seemed to be fun but was too much like EQ for me, and of course EQ 2.

So please come in and discuss the online games you play and recommend or not, and give new or even veteran players a chance to meet and pick our brains.
